On October 1st, 2011 the Aluminum Falcons participated in their last competition in the 2011 Logomotion Season. The Fitch Robotics team ended up fourth out of 22 teams in last Saturday's "Bash at the Beach" robotics competition in Old Lyme. The Aluminum Falcons dominated their opponents in the Quarter-finals, but were eliminated in the semi-finals by the winning alliance, led by the Cyber-Knights, from Southington High School.The team did receive a special "Contribution to Technology" award which recognized the efforts of Programming Captain, Zack Nado, who created a smart-phone app that automatically analyzes an opponent robot's strengths and weaknesses. Although this was Talyn final competition it will not be the last time it will be seen amongst the FIRST community.
